About Me
I value clean code, following SOLID principles. Both front-end and back-end are my jam.
Expressed as an art style my work follows maximal minimalist philosophies. I value clean accessible code while not loosing the passion and creativity that is intrinsic to good solutions and outside of the box thinking. From implementing pixel perfect designs to optimizing database queries I enjoy all aspects of development.
In my off time, you'll find my tinkering with anything I can take apart, reading up on some new skills or switching off with a good sci-fi novel / rolling out the yoga mat. I'm also a sustainability advocate, plant lover & have begun building my obligatory record collection.

Managing/Development
I've always had a knack for sustainable solutions. Leading me to co-found and lead development of a reusable container startup & circular economy SaaS product fighting plastic waste.
Building and growing a SaaS product from ground up. This has involved negotiating architecture choices based on product requirements, team/customer feedback and good developer experience. A recent highlight was conducting an internal security audit and implementing a security-first approach to our development process.

Rituals/Development/Refactoring
Awesome product that empowers support services and support workers in the NDIS to deliver high quality care.
An array of highlights here. Building fully-tested customer-first features and bringing in web accessibility standards. Refactoring legacy codebase according MVC principles. Reproducing, fixing and triaging bugs in production and development environments. Contributing to and running team & company-wide ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives.

Planning/Development
Startup to mainstream NFT collectibles in the arts and music industry.
Exploring new territories in the web3 world. I was designing a payment engine and smart contracts for custom NFT minting and ledgers. We had to guarantee payments and delivery in a buy it now as well as auction environment. This involved maintaining great error exception handling practices, with guaranteed success or rollback across services by anticipating edge cases.

Liquid is a brand experience agency that helps companies in the property development sector build stunning online presence.
Attention to detail was key here. Transforming designs into pixel-perfect web experiences using Vue.js and thoroughly testing to ensure pages were responsive and accessible across all browsers.

Progressive web app that allowed tennis players and trainers to upload their training videos to get AI generated stats about their technique and game-play.
My love for start ups began with Tennis AI. I worked in a small agile team adding new ways to visualize stats in tandem with the game-play footage, while refreshing the UI/UX. This was built on a serverless architecture via AWS lambda functions.

Development/Consulting
My entry point into full stack web development was via an array of projects as a freelancer.
Freelancing and consulting with start-ups and non-for-profits to build small web-based projects, navigating the latest technologies while allowing for easy access and modifications by the client.

Research/Coding/Reporting
Before I started my web technologies journey I had my roots in scientific research & computing. I did my postgraduate research working on a groundbreaking piece of open-source software GAMBIT. GAMBIT is a high-performance bayesian inference tool to fit likelihoods of new physics models.
Working as part of a global collaboration to extend a large scientific code project. Everything was carefully analyzed and documented in a clear and concise manner.
And Beyond
Outside of development I've taught first year university students data science and physics lab practicals. I enjoy sharing ideas and concepts in a simple and engaging way. I found a passion in social justice and volunteered as the Adelaide representative for Refugees Welcome & was part of the team that founded the WEF global shapers hub in South Australia for young leaders.
